Do Dogs Feel Envy?

Do dogs feel envy? A provocative new study suggests that they do, which would make man's best friend the first species after humans and primates to appear to chafe at being treated unfairly. While the researchers suggest that this study offers the first scientific evidence suggesting that animals, including dogs, have much richer emotional lives and more sophisticated behavior than humans have traditionally believed, we need to look at the evidence critically and from a behavior analytic perspective.

Read the Washington Post article and most importantly watch the video. See if you can determine what independent variables are in play with the dogs that may account for the behavior.

what is reward inequity condition? in what class would we learn about this? I am curious to find out more. also in the "asocial" position? what does this mean? that the dog is not with another dog? I am still learning and am curious to find out the answers to this.
